This Privacy Policy explains what information GeoClip collects and how we use it. You may play GeoClip as a guest or create an optional account. We keep data collection to the minimum necessary to operate the game and provide account features.

• Account information (optional): If you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide. This data is stored securely and used only to maintain your account and provide account-related features.
• Subscription information (optional): If you subscribe to the Pro Plan, we store your Stripe customer ID, subscription status, billing period end date, and cancellation preferences. This information is used solely to manage your subscription and provide Pro Plan features.
• Session identifiers: Temporary lobby codes or player IDs stored in your browser to enable multiplayer sessions.
• Gameplay data: Coordinates and guesses submitted during a round, stored only for the duration of the game.
• Diagnostics and analytics: Aggregated, anonymized usage data (e.g., page views) to monitor performance and improve the experience.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

GeoClip uses local storage to remember session details and improve gameplay (e.g., storing your temporary player ID or used locations for the host). These entries are cleared automatically when you return to the home screen or create a new lobby.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your data. Gameplay information is shared only with other players in your lobby and with our backend services (Supabase) to deliver the multiplayer experience.

5. Data Retention

Gameplay data is retained only as long as necessary to complete a session. Once a lobby ends and rounds are cleared, the associated guesses and location selections are removed from our database automatically.

6. Third-Party Services

We rely on Supabase for real-time multiplayer features, Vercel Analytics for aggregated usage metrics, and Stripe for payment processing. These providers may process limited technical information (such as IP addresses) to provide their services. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

7. Payment Information

If you subscribe to the Pro Plan, all payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc., our third-party payment processor. Stripe's Privacy Policy is available at https://stripe.com/privacy.

7.1 Payment Data Collected by Stripe

When you subscribe to the Pro Plan, Stripe collects and processes the following information on our behalf:

• Payment card information (card number, expiration date, security code)
• Billing address
• Email address (used for receipts and subscription notifications)

Important: GeoClip does not store your complete payment card information on our servers. All sensitive payment data is encrypted and stored securely by Stripe in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

7.2 Subscription Data Stored by GeoClip

To manage your subscription and provide Pro Plan features, we store the following information in our database:

• Stripe customer ID (a unique identifier linking your account to your Stripe customer record)
• Stripe subscription ID (a unique identifier for your subscription)
• Subscription status (e.g., active, canceled, past due)
• Current billing period end date
• Cancellation preferences (whether your subscription is set to cancel at period end)

7.3 How We Use Payment Information

We use subscription information to:

• Provide and manage access to Pro Plan features
• Process recurring subscription payments through Stripe
• Communicate with you about your subscription status
• Handle subscription cancellations and renewals
• Comply with legal and tax obligations

We retain subscription information for as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. If you cancel your subscription or delete your account, we will retain necessary records as required by law for tax and financial reporting purposes.

GeoClip is not directed to children under 13. If you are under 13, play only with parental consent and supervision.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access and correction: You may update your account information at any time through your profile settings.

• Local storage: You may clear browser local storage at any time via your browser settings to remove temporary session data.
